SAT and ACT Standard Procedures at Telos Academy 2018-2019
With the start of the new school year, the SAT and ACT have published their testing sites and dates for the 2018-2019 school year. We know many of you would like your son to take one or both of these tests. The following email will walk you through how we do this at Telos. Please read thoroughly.
While there are test dates throughout the year Telos Academy is facilitating travel to the SAT/ACT only on the following test dates:

These are the days Telos will facilitate registration for and travel to the ACT/SAT during this school year. The following link can give you some information regarding the differences between the ACT/SAT.
Accommodations
We understand that some of our students need testing accommodations. These requests must be 30 days before the actual test day. Additionally, requesting accommodations requires that we share your son’s Psych Evaluation, IEP, 504, and/or any other educational evaluation information with SAT or ACT. This is required for accommodations; there are no exceptions. If you would like your son to have accommodations, please fill out the corresponding attached release form, scan the document, and email it to Curtis Gardner ([email protected]). There is one release form for the SAT and one for the ACT. We need these documents ASAP if you would like your son to have accommodations for the October tests.
Test Prep
Many parents want to know about test prep. At Telos, we offer one-on-one test preparation tutoring at $40 per hour. We also ask parents to purchase a test prep manual for the respective test that their son will take. These usually cost $25-30; we will purchase the book and charge your trust so that you don’t have to worry about buying and shipping the book to Telos. We can have tutors work with your son 1-4 hours a week.
Prior Test Accounts and Accommodations
We ask you to create an SAT or ACT Account for your son, so we can register him for the test:

After creating an SAT or ACT account, please send the login and password to Curtis Gardner ([email protected]).
If your son has taken the SAT/ACT before, we will need your testing account login and password. If your son received accommodations at his old school for the SAT/ACT, we will also need to get those accommodations moved over to Telos. Failing to do this will result in no testing accommodations while your son is at Telos. Contact Curtis Gardner for more information on this .

This link will take you to a sign-up page where you can request which SAT/ACT you would like your son to take. You can also request tutoring on this page as well. Once you submit this information, we can start the registration process.
In addition, please note that when you request a specific testing date, we cannot change the date once registered. This means that you will need to work in conjunction with us to communicate the date with your therapist. Home Passes, Triathlons, Medical Appointments, Family Days, and other special events can often interfere with the SAT/ACT test dates. Please be mindful of these dates when choosing when your son takes the SAT/ACT. We also ask that you communicate with your son when you would like him to take the SAT/ACT.
Registration for each test costs about $65. We will register your son, and charge the fees from your trust account. By submitting an online request form, you agree to allow us to charge these fees to your account.

PSAT 9-10 & PSAT/ NMSQT
Telos Academy does not facilitate any of the PSAT or PSAT/ NMSQT tests. If you would like to have your son take an unofficial practice test, he can do so with a Telos tutor at the tutor rate--unofficial practice tests usually take 4-5 hours to complete. Please contact Kevin Kuykendall for more information.
