COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
When many people think of Yoga they think of Hatha yoga which is the physical exercise part of a yoga practice. There are all types of yoga, we will be focusing on the practice of Mindfulness.
Mindfulness is paying careful attention to what is happening now, and noticing when your attention drifts away. When we’re distracted or stressed, we can slip into problematic emotional states without realizing what’s happening. However, practicing mindfulness can strengthen our abilities to maintain positive emotional states and stay focused on the present moment instead of thinking about the past or worrying about the future.Mindfulness practices include breathing exercises and activities that increase your ability to focus and maintain a sense of calm.
Our lessons include: Introduction to Mindfulness, Introduction to Mindful Breathing, Reducing Multitasking, Being Aware of your Surroundings, Finding the Calm Around You, Eating Mindfully, Listening Mindfully, Increasing Empathy, Strengthening Self-Control, Working with Distractions, Managing School/Work Stress, and Expanding Your Comfort Zone
